Visitors from different districts flock to this serene oasis to experience the therapeutic benefits of its mineral-rich water.
Located approximately 10 KMs from Shopian Main Market Dubjan offers a refreshing escape to nature’s embrace. The journey to the springs itself is an adventure, involving a delightful 30 min trek through lush greenery and breathtaking landscapes.

“Known for its soothing and rejuvenating properties, the mineral waters of Dubjan Springs are believed to possess healing qualities for a wide range of skin conditions. Locals have passed down the knowledge of these waters’ therapeutic effects for generations, making it a sought-after destination for those seeking natural remedies.
The Gujjar and Bakarwal communities living in this region said, ‘the springs of Dubjan are attributed to the unique combination of minerals present in waters, which are said to have proven benefits for skin ailments such as eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis. The springs’ temperature remains consistently warm, contributing to their relaxing and comforting effect on visitors,’ they added.
Abdul Rehman, an elderly resident of Drubgam village in Pulwama District, who visited these springs to take a bath, drawn by the promise of natural healing for various ailments. With a firm belief in the therapeutic powers of the springs, he sought relief from joint problems and back pain, as he had heard from countless others that the water held the key to his cure.”
The locals and Tribals there further added, Tata Pani Spring, located at a short distance from Dubjan, has become a destination of hope for individuals seeking relief from specific health concerns. “Many Individuals suffering from Umbilical problems have reportedly experienced improvement or relief after visiting Tata Pani spring,”
Another resident of the Dubjan area said, the dual presence of hot and cold water springs in Dubjan offers unique therapeutic advantages for individuals seeking relief from various health issues. While the hot spring is thought to soothe and relax sore muscles, the cold spring is believed to invigorate and refresh the body and mind.
“For generations, we have relied on these springs to find relief from headache, joint pain, and back pain the waters healing properties are truly remarkable.”
Another resident Bhat Farooq emphasized “we must also ensure that these precious natural resources are protected and maintained for future generations. We appeal to the administration to pay attention to the spring’s conservation and provide better facilities for the benefit of everyone.”
Mr. Tanveer Ahmad a resident of Akhal Pulwama, shared his personal encounter with the distinctive Dubjan springs underscoring its potential curative powers for various skin-related issues. “The water has a distinct odor and feels different when you immerse yourself. The presence of sulphur in the water of these springs is believed to be responsible for these characteristics and that is what makes it special.”
He further added the elderly in their community have shared stories of relief from skin ailments after bathing in the sulphur water. While the scientific explanations may not be clear to all, the belief in its therapeutic properties runs deep.
