TWO TERRORISTS ELIMINATED IN OP AGANZIPORA

Srinagar, 27 May 2022 : Based on specific input from JKP regarding likely presence of terrorists in the general area of Aganzipora, Awantipore, a joint cordon and search operation was launched by the Indian Army and JKP in the area at about 09:00 PM on 26 May 22.

Own Forces established an initial cordon around the suspected cluster of houses in the village and at around 9:30 PM, as the cordon was being tightened around the target house, the terrorists opened indiscriminate fire on the Security Forces, in an attempt to break the cordon. Security Forces returned the fire, while simultaneously reinforcing and tightening the cordon. The ensuing firefight resulted in elimination of two terrorists by 02:15 AM on 27 May 2022. One AK Rifle, one Pistol and other war like stores were recovered from the encounter location.

As per JKP records, the two neutralised terrorists were of LeT and have been identified as Shahid Mushtaq Bhat, a resident of Hafroo Chadoora, Budgam and Farhan Habib, a resident of Hakripora, Pulwama.
