The National Science Day: Holy Qur’an dominates over Science

On 28th February, National Science Day is observed all over India with great enthusiasm, in order to commemorate the invention of the Raman Effect by Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman on the same day in the year 1928. For his great success, C. V. Raman was awarded and honored with the Nobel Prize in the year 1930 and Bharat Ratna in 1954.

Since 1936, this day is a great event in the field of Indian Science with an objective to spread widely a message about the significance of scientific application and contribution in day to day life. This day is being projected as a meeting event for scientists to present their scientific research and analysis.

This day is being celebrated in order to augment the scientific intersest and is meant for displaying of activities, efforts and achievements in scientific domain for human welfare, discussion of all the issues and implementation of new technologies for the development of the science. This years theme is ” *Future of STI : Impacts on Education, Skills and Work* “. (STI means Science, Technology & Innovation)

Each and every action in the universe is not going itself without the will of supreme power. The Qur’an is a complete book of ‘Signs’ that invites man to realize the true purpose of his existence. Due to the disadvancement of science and technology to examine the universe and nature in the 7th century when the Qur’an was revealed fourteen hundred years ago at a time when people knew very little about science and technology. The science of astronomy was still primitive. The origin of the universe is described in the Qur’an as:
” *بَدِيۡعُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضِ​ؕ وَ اِذَا قَضٰٓى اَمۡرًا فَاِنَّمَا يَقُوۡلُ لَهٗ كُنۡ فَيَكُوۡنُ‏ “-*
“ *He created the heavens and the earth from nothing, He has only to say when He will a thing ‘Be’ and ‘it is’.* ” (2:117)

Now astrophysics has proved that the entire universe came into existence as a result of great explosion “The Big Bang – created from nothingness” . The Big Bang not only demonstrated that the universe was created by the Creator, but at the same time the false beliefs like the distribution of sovereignties among divinities, each having under their commands the earth, the sun, the moon and the mountains respectively, were proved wrong. It became clear that whoever He was Who had devised the initial composition of the universe, having recourse to the Big Bang, was the Creator of everything. Thus the universe was under the exclusive control of One Single Power and this power was not shared.

The greatest sign is the stages and development of human embryology that the Holy Qur’an mentioned before it came into the knowledge of modern embryologists only after many decades.
” *وَلَقَدۡ خَلَقۡنَا الۡاِنۡسَانَ مِنۡ سُلٰلَةٍ مِّنۡ طِيۡنٍ​ ۚ‏ ﴿12﴾ ثُمَّ جَعَلۡنٰهُ نُطۡفَةً فِىۡ قَرَارٍ مَّكِيۡنٍ ﴿13﴾ ثُمَّ خَلَقۡنَا النُّطۡفَةَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقۡنَا الۡعَلَقَةَ مُضۡغَةً فَخَلَقۡنَا الۡمُضۡغَةَ عِظٰمًا فَكَسَوۡنَا الۡعِظٰمَ لَحۡمًا ثُمَّ اَنۡشَاۡنٰهُ خَلۡقًا اٰخَرَ​ ؕ فَتَبٰـرَكَ اللّٰهُ اَحۡسَنُ الۡخٰلِقِيۡنَ ؕ‏ ” ﴿23:14﴾*
” *We (Allah) created man from a quintessence of clay. We then placed him as a nutfah (drop) in a place of settlement, firmly fixed, then We made the drop into an alaqah (leech like structure ), and then We changed the alaqah into a mudhghah (chewed like substance), then We made out of that mudhghah, izam (Skelton and bones) then We clothed the bones with lamb ( muscles & flesh) then We caused him to grow and come in being and attain the definitive (human) form*.” (23 : 12-14)
The various stages of the creation of man have been cited to prove that Allah is All-Blessed and there is no one which can describe the praise of which He is worthy.

The Qur’anic injection erases the groundless beliefs as;
” *اَللّٰهُ الَّذِىۡ رَفَعَ السَّمٰوٰتِ بِغَيۡرِ عَمَدٍ تَرَوۡنَهَا​ …..”-* (13:2)
“ *God is He Who raised up the heavens without any support..*” (13 : 2)
Though there is nothing apparent and visible that is supporting these heavens, yet there is an invariable and imperceptible Power which is not only holding but keeping in its place each and every one of these huge heavens and whatever is in between them.
In an another verse it is described as;
” *وَالسَّمَآءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ الۡمِيۡزَانَۙ‏ ” -* (55:7)
“ *And the sky He has raised and set the balance.”* (55 : 7)
Allah has established the entire system of the universe on justice. Had there been no harmony and balance and justice established among the countless stars and planets moving in space, and the mighty forces working in this universe, and the innumerable creatures and things found here, this life on earth would not have functioned even for a moment.
After the Qur’anic injection of :
” *مَرَجَ الۡبَحۡرَيۡنِ يَلۡتَقِيٰنِۙ‏- بَيۡنَهُمَا بَرۡزَخٌ لَّا يَبۡغِيٰنِ ” -* (55:19-20)
“ *He has let made the two seas ( i.e fresh and salt water ) loose,They have a barrier between them.*” (55 :19 – 20)
Dr. William W. Hay – a well known marine scientist and Professor of Geological Science at the University of Colorado, USA said: “ I find it very interesting that this sort of information is in the ancient scriptures of the Holy Qur’an, and I have no way of knowing where they would come from, but I think it is extremely interesting that they are there and that this work is going on to discover it, the meaning of some of the passages.”

Quranic interpretation about the sky as a protective covering as a canopy for life on earth that protects from lethal radiations which may disrupt and killed off all life on this planet earth as ;
” *وَجَعَلۡنَا السَّمَآءَ سَقۡفًا مَّحۡفُوۡظًا ۖۚ …”-* (21:32)
“ *We made the sky a protective ceiling (secure canopy) .”* (Quran 21 : 32)

The other natural phenomena or scientific events mentioned in the Qur’an and proved by contemporary science are *Water cycle*; ‘ cause rain to descend from the sky’ (Q 15 : 22, 43 : 11); *Finger printing*; ‘restoring even their very fingertips’ (Q 75 : 4 ) ; *Sex;* ‘creates the two mates, the male and female  (53 : 45); *Winds* that blow violently (Q 77 : 2 ); *Water weaves*; ‘they will remain motionless on its surface’ (Q 42 : 33); *Iron*; ‘ We sent down iron’ (Q 57 : 25) etc.

The Miracles of the Qur’an will never end. But every verse it contains reveals the miracle of this Divine Book. The facts about scientific subjects and other events of future, were announced in its verses. Darwinism have been turned into controversy after taking evolution in its harsh manner. However the Darwin’s theory is rejected and it is actually in its opposite way of expression mentioned (7 : 166 and 2:65 ) in the Holy Qur’an.
” *….. قُلۡنَا لَهُمۡ كُوۡنُوۡا قِرَدَةً خٰسِئِیْنَ‏ “-* (7:166)
” *Become apes, despised and hated.*” (2:65)
After the study of science and Qur’an, it has been found that all the scientific events were mentioned in the Qur’an much earlier and many inventions, discoveries and other scientific theories are still under research.
There are still many hidden truths that Science fails to prove yet and may be in near future it may find these. Whether it is physical, chemical, biological, geological, geographical, astronomical, hydrological, mathematic, psychological or sociological field the Holy Qur’an always dominates these all. Science lags far behind the Holy Qur’an in every way.
Still so many nations are in search of many other signs from the almighty Allah swt. While some required only one sign, some required ten and some were unwilling to accept this truth as if they were
” *صُمٌّۢ بُكۡمٌ عُمۡىٌ فَهُمۡ لَا يَرۡجِعُوۡنَ ۙ‏ “-* (2:18)
” *They are Deaf, Dumb and Blind, they will never return (to the right way) “* (2: 18) The Holy Qur’an is going in a constructive way for overall development of life and fulfills all the needs of the society.
