Sopore police booked illegal mineral extractors, seized 12 tractors
Sopore, Jun 30 : Acting tough against persons involved in extraction of the minerals from the Hamal Nallah, Police in North Kashmir’s Sopore held extractors along with twelve tractors.
An official said that, multiple complaints were pouring in from the Yarbug village in Dangiwacha area of Sopore that some vested interests are indulging in illegal practice of mineral extraction from Nallah Hamal, Yarbug.
Acting on a tip off, joint parties of Police Station Dangiwacha and Police Post Watergam headed by Inspector Sajad Ahmed and SI Bilal Rashid conducted raids in Yarbug village and held persons found illegally extracting and loading mineral from the Hamal Yarbug Nallah along with twelve tractors, he said.
Official said, that a case FIR No 76/2022 under relevant sections of law in this regard stands registered in Police Station Dangiwacha and further investigation has been taken up.
