Police Commemoration Day held in PD Awantipora 

Awantipora 21 Oct: The sacrifices of police forces across the country made in the line of their duties were marked with solemnity on the Police Commemoration Day held at Police District Lines Awantipora.

SSP Awantipora, Ajaz Ahmed Zargar-JKPS along with SP DPL Awantipora Hilal Khaliq Bhat, SDPOs & other ranks of police, besides Addl DC Awantipora, members from civil society, retired police officers & family members of police martyrs paid floral tributes to all martyrs of the police forces of the Country and two minutes silence was observed with heavy heart.

In the function, contingents of JKP performed Shok Shastra on the beats of Pipe Band. On the occasion SSP Awantipora read out the list of Martyrs of police forces of the country who Sacrificed their lives in the line of duties while serving the nation and paid rich tributes to them.

The function was followed by laying of wreaths and showering of flowers by the officers, jawans, guests and the members of Martyrs families at Martyrs memorial DPL Awantipora.

SSP Awantipora distributed gifts among NOKs of Police Martyrs and also listened patiently to the grievances of Police Martyr families and assured them that pending issues pertaining to J&K Police will be followed for proper redressal on priority.

ADC Awantipora listened & assured to families that grievances pertaining to different line departments will be redressed on priority.

Moreover, in memory of Police martyrs, 10 days sports events Volley ball ,Badminton etc were inaugurated by SSP Awantipora also at DPL Awantipora after the commemoration parade along with Addl DC Awantipora in which students from different schools of PD Awantipora are participating.

Besides, different other programmes like honouring of police martyrs in respective villages, exhibition depicting valour of police martyrs, half Marathon, seminars, unity run etc are also being conducted during the week in furtherance of Annual Police Flag day week programmes initiated by JKP.
