Omar Abdullah Clarifies Timeline for Reservation Review Report
Srinagar, March 15: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has clarified that the Cabinet sub-committee examining the issue of reservations in recruitment has been given a six-month timeline to complete its report.
Responding to MP Ruhullah Mehdi’s concerns over the lack of a fixed timeline in the official order, Abdullah stated that the timeframe was set after he met with a group of job aspirants. He acknowledged that the omission in the initial order would be corrected but assured that the committee is actively working within the set deadline.
His statement comes after Mehdi questioned whether the government’s response on the matter was a clerical error or a misleading assertion. The clarification is expected to provide some relief to job aspirants awaiting the committee’s recommendations.
