License of five medical shops suspended in Kokernag Anantnag

Anantnag,12 October: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, a team led by Drug control authority Anantnag under direct supervision of SDM Kokernag conducted raids and inspections of several medical sale establishments in the hotspot areas of Kokernag, Vailoo, Dandipora here in South Kashmir area of Anantnag district on Thursday.

According to official sources, at least 15 inspections of medical sale establishments were conducted by the constituted teams of Drug control officers.

The operation of 05 medical shops three at Larnoo, one at vailoo, and one at Bidhard Kokernag were suspended on spot for violation of different provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.

Further, on-spot notices were served to JS pharmacy and Parray medical store at Larnoo to explain their stand regarding the non maintenance of records of scheduled medicines and improper storage conditions.

Chemists in the area were impressed to maintain the records of all the scheduled H1 medicines properly as per the prescribed norms and were asked to keep a proper vigil on every suspicious person. They were asked to share the responsibility of one and all to contribute in the eradication of the drug menace, sources said.

The team emphasized upon all chemists, particularly of such areas who still fail to install CCTV cameras to adhere to the directive within a weeks time. “Failure may invite strict administrative action under the purview of provisions of the Act’. they said.
