Lam, Gutengoo residents in Tral demand bridge connectivity

Tral (Aripal), 27 Feb: The residents of Lam & Gutengoo villages in Aripal tehsil of Tral sub-district have been facing hardships in absence of bridge connectivity.

The aggrieved residents told Arising State that the construction of the bridge in between the Lam and Gutengoo villages is a long pending demand, which is yet to be fulfilled.

They said that a makeshift bridge is placed on “Lam Nallah” due to which residents feel insecure, particularly at the time of rain.

Ghulam Hyder Dar, a local resident of Lam village has said that “gushing water always pose threat to the people ,while crossing this bridge.”

He said, “school-going children, women and elderly face difficulties all the time, which is a grave concern.”

Another resident rued that floods usually cut off these two villages, in absence of a bridge, due to which people of this area suffer.

The residents demanded immediate intervention of higher-ups and construction of a concrete bridge on the “Lam Nallah” as soon as possible.

DDC member, Aripal Block, Manzoor Ganai told Arising State that the construction of the bridge on Lam Nallah is the need of the hour.

He said that he has already discussed this issue with the administration, and assured that demand for the construction of the bridge shall be fulfilled soon.
