Kharpora Prungroo road poses medieval look, not macadamized since decades
Handwara, Sept 02: Locals of Kharpora Prungroo of north Kashmir’s Handwara on Wednesday appealed authorities to macadamize the link road that connects the area to the district headquarter.
Talking to media, locals of the area expressed strong resentment over the pathetic behavior of the R&B Department who has failed to macadamize the Kharpora Prungroo link road.
They said though the adjoining roads have been macadamized earlier the Kharpora Prungroo link road has been completely abandoned by authorities for decades, leaving the local population to suffer badly.
“The link road connects the area to the district headquarter and other party of Valley but despite living in a scientific era, the area has been deprived of basic facilities particularly roads which are in shambles”, locals said.
Locals of the area appealed district administration Kupwara and concerned R&B Department to kindly look into and ensure walkable roads to the local populace.
Executive Engineer R&B Muzaffar Ahmad Khuroo while talking to KNS stated that the department lacks funding currently but the matter will be taken up with higher authorities.
However, he said the matter will be resolved, hopefully, after deliberating with other senior officials.
