IUST organises ‘Sports Fest 2021’

Awantipora: A ‘Sports Fest’ was organised by the Islamic University of Science and Technology Awantipora on Wednesday, in which different games were played.

The Sports Fest included inter-house tournaments for different games like Cricket, Basketball, Badminton, Carom, Chess, Martial Arts, Volleyball, Yoga, Arm Wrestling etc.

The event was organised by the department of Physical Education, Islamic University Awantipora, on the directions of Vice Chancellor Prof. Shakeel Ahmad Romshoo, who was the chief guest on the occasion.

Assistant Director, Physical Education and Sports, IUST, Dr. Hilal Ahmad Rather conducted the programme, which was attended by a large number of players.

Talking to media, VC, Prof. Romshoo has said that the motive of this sports event was to engage students in sports activities, as co-curricular activities must take place, besides curricular activities.

He said that university is all set to conduct more such activities, for the welfare of students, from time to time.

Besides guests, students and other participants, Media Advisor to VC, Prof. (Dr.) Monisa Qadiri, Dean of students Dr. Anisa Jan, Prof. AH Moon, and others were also present.
