ICDS “Helper to Supervisors” stage protest in Srinagar, demand release of wages

Srinagar: In continuation of its efforts to fulfill the demands of “Helper to Supervisors” in Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Scheme staged protest in Srinagar on Monday demanding release of their wages.
The aggrieved employees assembled at Press Colony Srinagar, and raised slogans asking concerned department to release their pending wages from last three years.
Sources said that the monthly salary of these workers is only 2500 rupees, however, concerned authorities have failed to release their pending salary from last three years , leaving all the workers in the lurch.
On Monday, a large number of such workers assembled in Srinagar while protesting in support of their demands, including the release of pending salary of three years.
Mahajabeena, President Helper to supervisors association J&K told Arising State that they moved from pillar to post to seek release of their wages, “but only assurances were given so far, not wages.”
She said that helper to supervisors played an important role in Anganwadis and other departmental projects like pulse polio immunization programme, Covid-19 and election duties, however, their demands are yet to be fulfilled.
The protesting helper to supervisors have requested higher-ups to look into the matter and release the pending salaries at the earliest.
