Share
Srinagar, Aug 10 : Dr. Fayaz Mir, a Harvard-returned fellow and native of Tral, is on the verge of joining the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), potentially becoming a key figure in the party’s plans for youth outreach and Tral activities. With growing concerns over representation and the pressing issues facing the youth in Tral, Dr. Mir is stepping into the political spotlight.

PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti has been actively seeking promising, young, and educated individuals to be part of the party’s agenda, and Dr. Mir’s entry aligns perfectly with this vision.

Dr. Mir earned a doctoral degree in immunology from the Max-Planck Institute for Infection Biology (MPIIB) in Berlin, Germany, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA, where he worked from 2010 to 2013. He later served briefly at Sher-I-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) in Srinagar before moving to Qatar in 2014. There, he joined Hamad Medical Corporation as a Research Scientist and currently holds a position as an Associate Professor of Immunology at Qatar University’s School of Medicine.

As Dr. Mir prepares to align with the PDP, his extensive academic and professional background is expected to bring a fresh perspective to the party, particularly in addressing the challenges and instability in the Tral region
