Forest employees injured in attack by timber smugglers
An attack by timber mafia left forest protection Force (FPF) employees injured in Wadder Bala Rajwar in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Wednesday.
According to the officials of the forest department, a team of forest officials was dispatched to the higher reaches of Rajwar forests following an input that timber smugglers were felling down the forest trees.
As soon the team reached the spot, timber smugglers attacked the forest employee and thereafter fled the scene.
In the attack, an employee received Injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital where he got five stitches.
Hospital authorities identified injured as Ashiq Hussian and said that the condition of the injured person is stable.
Meanwhile in this regard police have registered a case and initiated an investigation in the matter.
DFO Langate Abdul Hameed Malla has condemned the attack on employee and said such things won’t be tolerated at all.
