Child & Maternity Unit of SDH Chrar closed down after pregnant lady tests Covid-positive

Authorities on Saturday suspended operations in the Child & Maternity Unit of SDH Chrar soon after a pregnant lady turned out to be Covid-19 positive.

According to reports, a female who was admitted in Child & Maternity Unit of Sub-District hospital Chrar tested Covid-19 positive after which BMO Chrar ordered the immediate suspension of maternity services and surgical operations in the Unit. However remaining units of SDH Chrar are functioning normally.

The official said that the C&M Unit of SDH Chrar was temporarily closed down to keep away the Covid-19 pandemic and particularly for the wellbeing and safety of medical staff and other visiting patients at the facility. He said the infected lady has been moved to isolation while the contact history of the patient is being traced out and so far number of relatives and health workers have been put into quarantine.
