Anantnag: Bijbehara police has solved the case of chopping apple trees at Moman Danji village of Aarwani in Anantnag District and arrested the miscreants who allegedly have chopped the apple trees on Saturday.
Official sources said that the police have arrested some suspicious people who admitted the offence, the case is currently processed and further action is being taken up in this regard, official sources said.
On Saturday last week, unknown miscreants chopped down more than two thousand apple trees in the Moman Danji area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, causing distress among the local residents.
The residents of the area visited their orchard only to find their apple trees had been chopped off.
The residents raised alarm and soon the residents found that many more trees had been chopped off completely while the branches of several other trees were cut down by the miscreants.
Meanwhile, Police has lodged complaint in this matter and started investigation.
