Assembly Sees Uproar as NC Minister, PDP MLA Clash Over Political Situation
Srinagar, Apr 4: The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly witnessed noisy scenes on Saturday following a heated exchange between National Conference minister Sakina Masood Itoo and PDP MLA Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra.
The confrontation began when Itoo blamed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the prevailing political and administrative situation in the Union Territory, triggering strong protests from opposition members.
She held the PDP responsible for developments in the aftermath of the abrogation of Article 370 and the governance challenges that followed, remarks that drew sharp objections from the party’s legislators.
As tempers flared, Itoo asserted that her government believes in “action, not drama,” in an apparent dig at the opposition, further intensifying the verbal duel.
The exchange led to brief disruptions in the House before normal proceedings resumed.
