LG’s Probe Order in Ganderbal Killing a Positive Step: PDP MLA Muntazir
Jammu, Apr 4: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader and Budgam MLA Aga Syed Muntazir on Saturday welcomed Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’s decision to order a high-level inquiry into a recent killing in Ganderbal, calling it a positive and significant development.
Referring to the incident, Muntazir said the victim’s family had expressed serious concerns and apprehensions, making the probe all the more necessary.
He noted that the Lieutenant Governor has sought a time-bound inquiry into the case, directing that the investigation be completed within a week. “We will have to wait and see what the report reveals,” he said, while appreciating the manner in which the inquiry has been initiated.
Highlighting the importance of the move, the MLA said that such an order from the head of the unified command is unprecedented in Jammu and Kashmir’s history.
While commending the intervention, Muntazir maintained that the findings of the report will be crucial in determining the next course of action.
