Drive against wrong parking held in Tral town
Tral, 13 Jan: A drive against the wrong parking was held in Tral township of South Kashmir on Wednesday.
An official has said that “it was observed that a large no of vehicles remain parked on the roads of Tral Town like Addl Dy Commr Office, Hospital Road, Fire services Chowk, Aab Ghar, Muqdam Mohalla, Kadi Masjid Chowk, Trag Chadiey and Bus Stand.Parked vehicles create trouble for General Public especially for patients.”
He said that taking serious note of the situation, Addl Dy Commr initiated drive against the violators on 11 Jan 2021, which is continuously in swing.
“So for action was taken against 230 drivers. Revenue and MC Tral are participating in the drive. The drive shall remain continue upto ending January. The concerned are directed to start the drive on daily basis at 10:00am Sharp,” official said.
In a press release, officials in the ADC office said that the wrong parked vehicles are causing or likely to cause danger, obstruction or undue inconveniences to General Public.
They said that this office is sharing some rules of Road Regulations for general information as,

Rules of the Road Regulations
Parking of the Vehicle:
_ Every driver of a motor vehicle parking on any road shall park in such a way that it does not cause or is not likely to cause danger, obstruction or undue inconvenience to
other road users and if the manner of parking is indicated by any sign board or markings on the road side, he shall park his vehicle in such manner.
_ A driver of a motor vehicle shall not park his vehicle:
° At or near a road crossing, a bend, top of a hill or a humpbacked bridge.
° On a foot-path.
° Near a traffic light or pedestrian crossing.
° On a main road or one carrying fast traffic.
° Opposite another parked vehicle or as obstruction to other vehicle.
° Alongside another parked vehicle
° On roads or at places or roads where there is a continuous white line with or without a broken line.
° Near a bus stop, school or hospital entrance or blocking a traffic sign or
entrance to a premise.
° On the wrong side of the road.
° Where parking is prohibited.
° Away from the edge
