Tral, 26 Sep: After a delay, the work on Tral’s Waged-Lurgam road has been restarted from Friday, bringing smiles on the faces of people.

Soon after this, locals in Lurgam, Lurow, and other adjoining areas of Tral have expressed gratitude towards the R&B department and district authorities, for restarting macadamization work, on the 3-kilometer Waged-Lurgam road.

Earlier, the work on the said road was delayed, due to some unknown reasons, following which outrage was seen among the people.

A group of locals said that they are very happy with the move and wanted swift completion of the stretch, ahead of weather conditions.

They said that they were unhappy earlier, when the 03 out of 8 kilometres road was sidelined, “however, the inclusion of it in a recent move, brought a smile on the faces of people.”

Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE), Road & Buildings (R&B) department, Ishtiyaq Ahmad, told Arising State that “with the joint efforts of Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Dr. Raghav Langer, ADC Tral SA and other concerned people, the road work was restarted recently and is being completed by the R&B.”

He said that they are trying their best to complete the stretch at the earliest.

It’s pertinent to mention here that Arising State had carried a news story, soon after the work was delayed on the road.
