J&K Govt Prepone Jumat-ul-Vida Holiday to March 13

JAMMU, Mar 12: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Thursday ordered the preponement of the public holiday on account of Jumat-ul-Vida, which will now be observed on March 13, 2026 (Friday) instead of March 20, 2026 across the Union Territory.

According to an order issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), the decision has been taken in partial modification of Government Order Nos. 1894-JK(GAD) of 2025 and 1895-JK(GAD) of 2025, both dated December 12, 2025.

“In partial modification of the earlier government orders, it is hereby ordered that the holiday on account of Jumat-ul-Vida shall now be observed on the 13th of March, 2026 (Friday) instead of 20th of March, 2026 (Friday), in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir,” the order stated.
