Viral Video Exposes Alleged Negligence in SKIMS Soura Nephrology Ward
Srinagar, Jan 13: Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura is facing criticism over allegations of negligence in its Nephrology Ward, following the emergence of a viral video on social media that has outraged the public.
The video, reportedly filmed by the daughter of a critically ill patient in Ward 4A, alleges that for more than an hour, no doctors or paramedical staff were available to care for around 40 patients in the ward.
The footage highlights empty doctors’ rooms and a noticeable absence of medical personnel. The patient’s daughter claimed that despite an extensive search, she could not locate anyone to attend to her father’s critical needs.
The viral video has intensified demands for accountability and improvements in SKIMS Soura’s administrative and operational standards. Many are calling for immediate corrective actions to address what they see as systemic issues in patient care.
Attempts to reach SKIMS officials for a response have been unsuccessful.
