“Viksit Bharat @2047”: IUST Awantipora organises Webcast

Awantipora: Under the esteemed guidance of Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Shakil Ahmad Romshoo, the Islamic University of Science and Technology, Awantipora, organized a webcast on December 11, 2023, at 10:30 AM.

The initiative aimed to ensure the active participation of the university community in the “Viksit Bharat@2047-Voice of Youth” National Level event, orchestrated by Niti Aayog. The objective was to facilitate attendance for the highly anticipated speech by the Honorable Prime Minister.

To streamline the process, the University’s Directorate of IT&SS efficiently disseminated the webcast link for the Prime Minister’s address. Heads of Departments (HoDs) were duly instructed to mobilize their faculty, staff, and students, underlining the importance of this national event.

Specifically, the Dean, Directors, Principals HoDs, Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors, and Officers were urged to attend the webcast at 10:00 AM in the prestigious RUMI Library.

A pivotal aspect of the event was a panel discussion where participants addressed a spectrum of concerns and put forth valuable recommendations.

Attendees were actively encouraged to engage with students within their respective departments, fostering a collaborative exchange of ideas.

Notably, representatives from the Syed Mantaqi Memorial College of Nursing and Medical Technology played a significant role in the panel discussion on 12th Dec 2023, contributing insights on various health-related topics.

Ms. Asmat Parveen, the founder principal, extended a warm welcome to the faculty members and students, emphasizing the need for collective efforts to support Viksit Bharat@2047.

She proposed targeted campaigns in nursing colleges to increase student involvement and underscored the pivotal roles of self-confidence, preparedness, commitment, and familial support in achieving the overarching objectives of the initiative.

Faculty members from the Syed Mantaqi Memorial College of Nursing and Medical Technology presented practical suggestions for achieving the outlined objectives. They underscored the significance of cultivating a positive outlook on health and emphasized that self-improvement is the cornerstone of health development.

Furthermore, students brought to light several pressing concerns and offered insightful recommendations related to the health sector. These included issues such as the absence of a conducive work culture, inadequate infrastructure, high costs for long-term care medications, labor division in nursing, limited opportunities, the scarcity of rehabilitation services in Kashmir, pay anomalies, lack of designated positions, and the crucial need for mental health awareness among youth, as well as initiatives for drug de-addiction.

In conclusion, the participation of Syed Mantaqi Memorial College in the panel discussion not only highlighted their commitment to the cause but also enriched the discourse with valuable perspectives. The collaborative effort showcased the university’s dedication to addressing critical issues in the health sector and contributing to the vision of a developed India by 2047.
