Union Cabinet approves Urdu among official languages of J&K
The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved Urdu among officials languages of J&K.
According to reports, Union Cabinet which met today approved the introduction of Parliament the Jammu and Kashmir Official Languages Bill 2020, said Union Minister Prakash Javdekar.
He said, in the meeting, five languages including Urdu, Kashmiri, Dogri, Hindi, and English were approved as official languages of J&K.
“Urdu, Kashmiri, Dogri, Hindi and English to be official languages in Jammu and Kashmir under the new Bill approved by the Cabinet, said Javdekar adding the decision was taken on public demand.
Javdekar said that the Union Cabinet has also approved Mission Karmayogi for bringing post-recruitment reforms in the Government.
