Two militants killed, five soldiers injured in Nowgam gunfight in central Kashmir

Two militants were killed in a gunfight in Nowgam area on the outskirts of Srinagar on Friday, police said.

A police spokesman said two militants were killed in the gunfight between security forces and millitants that broke out in Nowgam today morning. He said their identities and group affiliations were being ascertained.

According to sources the gunfight broke out today morning in Sutsoo Kalan area of Chattergam early Friday.

An  M4 and an INSAS rifle were recovered from the possession of the slain militants.

The report said that five soldiers were wounded in the gunfight.
