Two drug peddlers arrested in Awantipora

Awantipora, 22 October: Continuing its drive against drug peddlers, Awantipora Police arrested two drug peddlers near Imamabara Wakherwan in Awantipora tehsil on Thursday.

As per the official, the two arrested drug peddlers have been identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Renzipora and Waseem Ahmad Wani, a resident of Baderwan in Pulwama.

He said that they were arrested while they were travelling in Auto Load Carrier JK03F-8420 from Pulwama to Awantipora.

The offcial further said that 15 kg of Poppy Straw was recovered from their possession.

According to the police press release, the Auto Load carrier used for the commission of the offence has also been seized.

A case under FIR Number 150 /2020 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Awantipora.
