Transfer Row: LG Manoj Sinha Defends Actions, Says Adhering to J&K Reorganization Act

Srinagar, April 4: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha reaffirmed today that all his decisions have remained within the constitutional framework set by the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019.

Responding to concerns raised by the National Conference (NC), Sinha stated, “I know my boundaries and I will never cross them,” he said in a video being circulated on social media.
He emphasized that his administration operates strictly within legal limits.
His remarks appear to counter criticism from the NC, which, during a closed-door meeting earlier in the day, expressed concerns over what they perceive as the LG administration’s growing influence in areas traditionally reserved for an elected government. The party reportedly voiced unease over recent administrative decisions, including officer transfers.
Sinha, however, defended his actions, insisting that they align with the governance structure established after the Jammu and Kashmir’s transition to a Union Territory in 2019.
