BASHARAT RASHID
Pulwama, 04 March: Walnut trees leaning on a Govt. school at Aripal tehsil of Tral subdivision in Pulwama district pose threat to the students & staff.
The residents said that presence of several walnut trees in and around the Govt. High School Aripal Tral have been giving tough time to the students and the teachers.
They said that they have many times complained to concerned authorities to remove the trees from the school premises, but no action has been taken.
The residents further said that at the time of rain and wind storms, tree branches suddenly fall down and create fear among the school children.
Mohammad Ayoub Khan, a local told Arising State that buildings of the school are too old, with seasonal winds usually give hard times to the staff members and students, as they always feel insecure, in view of walnut trees.
He said that concerned teachers brought the issue into the notice of ZEO and others officials, which is yet to be taken into the consideration.
The residents demanded that walnut trees in the school premises should be removed to secure the children and the staff members.
ADC, Tral, S.A. Raina, when contacted, told Arising State that he will “seek report and will subsequently grant permission if required.”
It’s pertinent to mention here that the school has recorded a 100% pass percentage in 10th class result, which was declared by J&K Board of School Education, a few days back.
