TRAI Organises Consumer Outreach Programme on Telecom Tariff and Billing in Leh
Leh, July 16, 2026 “The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Regional Office Delhi, today organised a Consumer Outreach Programme on Tariff and Billing in Telecom and Broadcasting Services at Hotel Mountain Vibe, Leh, in collaboration with the Ladakh Rural Livelihood Mission.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from representatives of telecom service providers and members of various Self Help Groups (SHGs) with the objective of creating greater awareness about consumer rights and the regulatory framework governing telecom and broadcasting services.
During the programme, Shri Rajesh Tripathi, Joint Advisor, TRAI; Shri Sushil Kumar Bansal, Senior Research Officer; and Shri Suresh K. V., along with representatives from Airtel, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and Reliance Jio, conducted technical sessions on consumer protection, tariff and billing-related provisions in telecom and broadcasting services.
Inspector Shamim of the Ladakh Police also delivered an informative session on cyber hygiene, highlighting safe digital practices and measures to safeguard against cyber threats.
The programme further featured demonstrations on the TRAI DND App, TRAI MySpeed App, Digital Connectivity Rating of Buildings and the PM-WANI initiative. Participants were encouraged to make effective use of these digital platforms to improve their telecom service experience and contribute towards enhancing service quality.
Several participants downloaded the TRAI DND App during the programme, reaffirming their commitment to adopting proactive measures against Unsolicited Commercial Communications (UCC). (PIB)
