Construction work of Revenue Building in Langate still incomplete even after 14 years

People of the Kralgund area of north Kashmir’s Langate constituency on Saturday expressed dismay over the sluggish approach of authorities who have failed to complete the construction work of a revenue-building even after 14 years.
According to reports, a revenue-building in Kralgund Langate whose construction work was left midway fourteen years ago, by concerned authorities. Sources said that the construction work on the said building was taken up in 2005-2006 by the Rural Development Department with an estimated amount of rupees 06 lacs, however, the building is still not being handed over to the concerned department despite the passing of 14 years.
Locals told our correspondent that all the departments in Kralgund tehsil including the tehsil office, revenue department, and others are functioning in rented buildings. They said that the administration has taken up the case of building a decade ago but failed to accomplish its pending construction work on time which led the departmental affairs affected.
“This is how the administration is wasting public money. Fourteen years of time is still insufficient for the administration to complete the building and to make it functional for public issues”, locals said.
Locals expressed dismay against the authorities saying they have started to construct another structure adjacent to this revenue building which has not been completed due to the sluggish approach of authorities.
“Administration has taken up the construction of Panchayat building adjacent to the already existing building, which vindicates the weak and sluggish plans of administration”, locals added.
They urged district administration Kupwara to resume the left work on the revenue building and complete it at the earliest for the larger benefit of people.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Bashir Ahmad while talking to our correspondent expressed surprise and said that the matter has never been brought to his notice. He thanked the reporter and assured all required details about the abandoned building will be collected and pending construction work of the building will be resumed soon.
