South Kashmir: Encounter rages in Pulwama
An encounter broke out between militants and joint forces in Samboora village of Pampore in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday afternoon.
Sources said that a joint team of Army, police and Army’s 50RR and CRPF had launched a cordon and search operation in the Samboora area, following inputs about the presence of militants.
They said that as the forces were intensifying searches, the militants fired upon them, triggering off an encounter, which is still going on.
However, no loss of life on either side was reported when this report was being filed.
