Kathua Jammu , April 1: The Jammu and Kashmir Police have detained six members of a family, including four women, for allegedly providing assistance to militants involved in last week’s deadly encounter in Kathua.
The encounter, which took place in the Hiranagar area, resulted in the deaths of four policemen. Following an intensive investigation, authorities identified a local family suspected of harboring and aiding the militants before and after the attack.
According to police sources, the detained individuals provided logistical support, including shelter and supplies, to the militants. Security forces are continuing their operations to dismantle any remaining support networks linked to the attack.
The incident has heightened security concerns in the region, with authorities intensifying search operations and surveillance in vulnerable areas. Officials have urged the public to report any suspicious activities to prevent further militant movements.
Further investigations are underway to determine the extent of the family’s involvement and whether additional individuals were complicit in aiding the attackers.(CNS)
