Rahullah Mehdi’s Protest ‘A Breach Of Discipline’ In Party: NC MLA Salman Sagar 

Srinagar, Dec 24: National Conference (NC) legislator Salman Sagar today clarified the party’s position on Member of Parliament Rahullah Mehdi’s involvement in Monday’s reservation protest, calling it a personal decision that did not reflect the party’s stance.

According to the reports ,speaking at the party headquarters in Srinagar, Sagar emphasized that the protest was not organized by the NC but by individuals he described as “enemies of the party.” 

He asserted that Mehdi’s participation was in his personal capacity and not as an NC representative.

“It was not a National Conference protest. Not a single leader from NC was part of it,” Sagar stated. 

He called Mehdi’s participation a breach of party discipline and a blow to its public image, adding, “This incident has provided detractors an opportunity to malign our party. It was a deliberate drama aimed at defaming the National Conference, and unfortunately, our MP inadvertently played into their hands.”

Despite his criticism, Sagar expressed solidarity with the students involved in the reservation issue. He voiced confidence that the matter would be resolved under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. “I stand with the students and am optimistic that their concerns will be addressed,” he said.
