Police arrests 03 drug peddlers in Handwara; contraband substances recovered
Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, Police have arrested 03 drug peddlers in Handwara and recovered contraband substances from their possession.A Police team of Police Post Zachaldara at a checkpoint established at Sultanpora Bridge intercepted a suspicious individual. During search, officers were able to recover 06 grams of a brown sugar-like substance from his possession. He has been identified as Raja Hashim Khan, son of Raja Altaf Khan, resident of Rengpath Kralgund.
Moreover, a Police team of Police Post Langate at a checkpoint established at Gund Kuhroo intercepted a suspicious individual identified as Naveed Rehman Dhobi, son of Ab Rehman Dhobi, hailing from Dangiwacha Rafiabad. During search, officers were able to recover 8.45 grams of heroin-like substance from his possession.
Meanwhile, a Police team of Police Post Magam at a checkpoint established at Batpora intercepted a suspicious individual identified as Basharat Ahmad Bhat, son of Abdul Rahim Bhat, resident of Magam Handwara. During search, officers were able to recover 07 grams of heroin-like substance from his possession.All the accused persons have been arrested and accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Handwara and investigations are underway.
