Srinagar, July 29: In a move aimed at improving access to passport services in remote regions, the Ministry of External Affairs has launched a three-day Mobile Passport Van service in Kargil under the Passport Seva Project (PSP).

The Mobile Passport Van, deployed by the Regional Passport Office, Srinagar, will remain stationed at the Tourist Facilitation Centre, Bemathang, Kargil, from July 29 to July 31, enabling residents of Kargil and adjoining areas to avail passport-related services without travelling long distances.

Officials said applicants must book an appointment through the Passport Seva Portal by selecting “Passport Van” as the service option and choosing an available slot during the three-day camp.

Applicants have been advised to report at the designated venue on the date and time of their appointment. They can also contact the Mobile Passport Van team (PB65BF1377) for any assistance related to the camp.

The Mobile Passport Van initiative has been introduced by the Ministry of External Affairs to extend passport services to citizens living in remote and underserved areas, making the application process more accessible and convenient. (PIB)
