Pakistan’s Asim Munir Flags US Blockade as Obstacle to Iran Talks
Asim Munir, Pakistan’s army chief, has raised concerns with Donald Trump over the US blockade of Iranian ports, calling it a major obstacle to ongoing diplomatic efforts with Iran.
According to Reuters, Munir conveyed during a telephonic conversation that the blockade could hinder the second round of US-Iran talks planned in Islamabad.
Trump, the source said, responded that he would consider the advice.
The development comes amid renewed attempts to ease tensions between Washington and Tehran, with Pakistan playing a role in facilitating dialogue.
