Ompora leopard attack: Range Officer Wildlife Dept suspended

Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Shahbaz Mirza on Friday suspended Range Officer Wildlife Department Ompora for “dereliction of duties” after a minor girl was mauled to death by a leopard.

“DC Budgam suspends Range Officer Wildlife Deptt.Ompora for dereliction of duties in backdrop of leapord mauling 4 year old girl to death. Chairs Emergency meeting, key decisions taken in meeting to avert any further such unfortunate incidents in future, ” a spokesperson said this afternoon.

The four-year-old girl from Housing Colony Ompora was taken away by the big cat from her residence last evening as per reports. Her mauled body was found by locals and a search team this morning.
