Muzafar Beigh Quits PDP
Srinagar, November 14: Senior Political leader Muzafar Hussain Beigh today quit the People’s Democratic Party over the seat-sharing agreement with other parties of the People’s Alliance for the Gupkar Declaration (PAGD).
As per reports, Beigh said, ” NC is fighting on majority seats. It is not in interests of PDP. I respect Farooq Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti and I wish them luck. I am leaving PDP on basis of principles.”
He also said that he was not consulted regarding the seat-sharing agreement with PAGD affiliated parties.
“Today evening I called her(Mehbooba) and told her about resignation from PDP as a patron and a member.”
Regarding future strategy, he said, ” I will consult my friends and well-wishers regarding my future strategy,” he said.
Beigh will be addressing the press about his decision on Sunday along with other leaders.
