Man arrested for poaching migratory birds in Ganderbal
Forest Protection Force and Wildlife Department in a joint operation arrested one person for poaching migratory birds today at Fatehpora Check Ganderbal.
A senior official said that a man was found shooting migratory birds and was immediately arrested for poaching, also a gun with 5 cartridges( 4 live and one used), one knife and one duck whistle were seized from his possession. The man has been identified as Javid Ahmed Malla S/o Mohammad Yousef Malla R/o Fatehpora Check Ganderbal.
As per the official statement, the operation was carried out by Forest Protection Force K-01 Flying Squad Srinagar and Wildlife Wetlands Division Kashmir after receiving input regarding his illegal activity. The culprit has been handed over to Police and the action under the provisions of Wildlife Protection Act has been initiated in this regard.
