Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Joins Youm-e-Ashura Zuljanah Procession in Srinagar, Expresses Solidarity with Shia Community
Srinagar, Date: Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, made a significant gesture of communal harmony and respect as he joined the Zuljanah procession of Shia mourners on the auspicious occasion of Youm-e-Ashura in the Botakadal area of Srinagar’s downtown.
Amid tight security cover, LG Sinha arrived at the Bota Kadal area at approximately 11 am, where he wholeheartedly participated in the Zuljanah procession. Paying homage to Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS), he reverently offered a chaddar to Zuljanah, symbolizing his profound respect for the solemn occasion and the sentiments of the Shia community.
During the procession, LG Sinha took the initiative to distribute refreshments among the mourners, demonstrating his genuine concern for their well-being and extending full support to the community during this significant religious event.
Accompanying the Lieutenant Governor were esteemed officials, including ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vijay Kumar Bhiduri, SSP Srinagar Rakesh Balwal, and Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Muhammad Aijaz Asad, who joined hands with LG Sinha to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of the procession.
The Shia mourners expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the administration for their meticulous arrangements, ensuring that the event was conducted with efficiency and care. They were particularly pleased to witness the presence of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, viewing his participation as a moment of pride and a symbol of unity.
“The sight of LG sahib among us today brings us immense delight and strengthens the bond of communal harmony,” one of the Shia mourners expressed. “The arrangements made by the administration are commendable and have added to the sanctity of this solemn occasion,” he added.
