Spokesperson BJP J&K Girdhari Lal Raina on Wednesday said the latest administrative steps to fight the Pandemic are welcome, but inadequate Lapses of past are inexcusable and need to fix responsibility Exposure of ineptitude, negligence, wrangling and other wrongdoings in the fight against the Covid19 pandemic in Jammu Division has forced the administration to take up certain corrective measures.
according to the statement issued that reads, these curative steps though much delayed and insufficient are still welcome as is important to save lives of people & allay their fears. People’s trust in GMC and administration of other Hospitals was hit and will be restored only after corrective measures taken translates into action on the ground and improves both recovery and fatality rates.
Similarly affected persons in Home quarantine must receive required attention without any difficulty. Media Bulletin issued by the UT administration has revealed there are 3762 Isolation Beds (including ICU Beds), in DCHs and DCHCs of Jammu and Kashmir UT, of which, 2649 are vacant. Out of these 1419 are in various districts of Jammu division, of which, 934 are vacant and 2343 are in different districts of Kashmir division, of which, 1715 are vacant.
This sounds reassuring. But on the ground patients are being sent back citing lack of beds in the hospitals as a reason. This contradiction needs to be addressed at the earliest. The best way to do so is to ensure that the real-time availability of beds in government and private COVID designated Hospitals is made public online and through appropriate Apps.
It is being done in most states of the country. Doing so will put an end to uncertainty. Other measures required to be taken on a war footing
