Labour Department Pulwama Organizes Awareness Programme on World Day against Child Labour

Pulwama, June 12: The Labour Department, in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority, successfully organized an awareness programme to raise awareness about Labour Laws and addressed the issue of Child Labour.

The esteemed Chief Judicial Magistrate, Mr. Mansoor Ahmad Lone and ADDC Pulwama Mr. Dr. Abdul Aziz Sheikh,graced the occasion with their august presence. Advocates of the BAR Consel Pulwama also participated in the occasion.

The students of different schools including Lyceum International School Pulwama, Dolphin International School Pulwama, Solace International School also added colour to the occasion by their presence and beautiful speeches on awareness of Child Labour.

Addressing the audience, The Assistant Labour Commissioner Pulwama addressed the importance of labour laws and shed light on the pressing issue of child labour prevailing in society. She emphasized that students play a pivotal role as ambassadors to disseminate awareness about the various beneficiary schemes available for the labour class. She urged them to actively participate in eradicating the menace of child labour from our society.

She also said that the Labour Department remains committed to working towards the betterment of the labour community and will continue to organize such initiatives in the future.
During the ceremony, Assistant Labour Commissioner Ms Hafsa Qayoom also distributed one Death and one Educational Assistance amount of Rs 2 Lac 50 thousand among the applicants/dependents.

This event served as a platform to acknowledge the significance of labour laws, promote educational opportunities for labourers, and raise awareness about the detrimental impact of child labour on society.
