IUST organizes International Conference on Religion & Technological Advancements

Awantipora, November 22 – A two-day International Conference on Religion and Technological Advancements: Challenges and Prospects today commenced at Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST). The conference, organized by the Department of Islamic Studies, brought together scholars and academicians to discuss and deliberate on the relationship between religion and technological revolution.

Prof. Mohd Mumtaz Ali, keynote speaker from the International Islamic University, Malaysia spoke about the challenges and opportunities arising from the intersection of religion and technological advances.

Prof. A. H. Moon, Dean Academic Affairs IUST, & Chief Guest in his presidential remarks said that IUST is committed to fostering research across diverse domains aimed at formulating effective solutions. Dr. Afroz A Bisati Head Department of Islamic Studies and Conference Convenor welcomed the participants and said that the conference aims to provide a platform for discussions and meaningful exchanges among attendees representing diverse cultural, religious, and academic backgrounds.

Dr. Munejah Khan (Dean School of Humanities and Social Sciences IUST, and Guest of Honour), said that the impact of technological advancements extends across all facets of education and society, thereby bearing relevance to humanities and social sciences. The inaugural session was moderated by Prof. Manzoor Ahmad Bhat while as, Dr. Showkat Hussain presented the vote of thanks.
