Islamic University Awantipora celebrates 16th foundation day

Awantipora: Islamic University of Science and Technology in Awantipora area of South Kashmir celebrated its 16th Foundation Day with great enthusiasm and fervor here on Wednesday.
On the occasion, a grand function was held in the newly established auditorium, which was attended by a large number of students and staff members.
The function that had several sessions and performances throughout the day, was also attended by former Vice Chancellors of the university, in presence of contemporary Vice Chancellor Prof. Shakil Ahmad Romshoo, and Registrar Prof. Naseer Iqbal.
The former Vice Chancellors have shared their experiences, and talked about the paradigm under which they worked during their tenure.
Talking to media, Registrar Prof. Naseer Iqbal has said that Islamic University played a vital role, “from time to time, with the help of Almighty Allah and also govt, which helped many students to go abroad for further studies, and helped them to get placement in the same university later.”
He said that “Islamic university was initially started with two buildings, but have eighteen departments now, and is providing a large number of courses to aspiring students.”
Dr. Iqbal added that University is now preparing for NAAC team visit, and is expecting good ranks.
Others present at the occasion were Dr. Monisa Qadiri, Prof. A.H. Moon, Dean of Students- Prof. Anisa Jan, Deans of various schools, HODs of different departments, Professors, Principal MMCNT Asmat Parveen and other officers.
The Media Advisor to Vice Chancellor, Dr. Monisa Qadiri, proposed a vote of thanks in the end of the programme.
