Injured Kulgam Panch Succumbs

Member of a local panchayat who was critically injured after he was shot at by unknown gunmen at Shalipora village in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Wednesday evening has succumbed.  Abdul Majeed Dar was shot at by masked gunmen inside his house leaving him seriously injured. Majeed who suffered a bullet injury was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where from he was referred to SMHS hospital in Srinagar in a critical condition. Majeed was a panch who had contested the recently-concluded Panchayat election as an independent candidate. He was earlier affiliated with the Peoples Democratic Party, according to reports.
