Illicit timber seized by Budgam Police;07 persons arrested, vehicle seized

Budgam, 07th February 2023: Budgam Police seized *36 Cft illicit timber(16 logs)* and arrested 07 accused persons involved in the commission of crime, vehicle also seized.

Police Station Beerwah received an information that some timber smugglers are transporting illicit timber in a vehicle bearing registration number *JK04H-2155* accordingly a checkpoint was established at Bonhama crossing, at about 05:10 hrs, police party intercepted the said vehicle and was signalled to stop.During search of vehicle *16 logs of illicit timber (deodar)* were recovered and 7 persons on board including driver were arrested on spot and vehicle used for commission of crime has been seized.

Case FIR number *18/2023* under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Beerwah & investigation taken up.
