Hideout busted in Awantipora:Police
Jammu and Kashmir police on Thursday claimed to have busted a militant hideout and recovered arms and ammunition.
According to a police statement issued to KNS reads, based on the credible inputs about the presence of Lashkar e Tobiya in the forest area of Badroo Barsoo , Awantipora. Police along with 50RR and 130 BN CRPF launched search in the said forest area during the night hours of 12/13 August 2020.
During the search in the early morning hours, two hideouts of Lashkar e Tobiya were busted and destroyed.
Incriminating material and a huge cache of explosive material and ammunition have been recovered from the destroyed hideouts which include :
1) Ammunition AK 47 : 1918 rounds .
2) Hand Grenades: 02 number
3) Ubgl thrower : 01 number
4) Ubgl grenades : 04 number
5) Half a bag of ammonium nitrate like substance
6) Five gelatin sticks.
7) Crude pipe bomb.
8) code sheet 03 number
Other materials include
Indian currency Rs 5400/= ( five thousand and four hundred), food items , utensils, gas stoves, gas cylinder, and other material.
