Government Reconstitutes Central Board of Film Certification with 18 Members

 16 SEP 2026 New  Delhi : The Government of India has reconstituted the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with immediate effect for a period of three years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The reconstitution has been carried out by the Central Government in exercise of the powers conferred under sub-section (1) of Section 3 of the Cinematograph Act, 1952, read with Rule 3 of the Cinematograph (Certification) Rules, 2024.

The reconstituted Central Board of Film Certification comprises the following 18 members:

The notification regarding the reconstitution of the Board has been issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on 16 September 2026. (PIB)
