General Lok Adalat held in Munsiff Court Awantipora
Pulwama: In compliance of action plan formulated by J&K Legal Services Authority , General Lok Adalat was held on Saturday in the Munsiff Court Complex Awantipora.
The said Lok Adalat was organised under the overall supervision of Mr Rayaz Ahmad Choudhary (Secretary DLSA Pulwama) & Mr Abdul Rashid Malik (Chairman DLSA /Principal District And sessions judge Pulwama).
The Bench was presided over by Chairman TLSC Awantipora Mr Raja Arshad Hamid (MUNSIFF Judicial Magistrate 1st Class Awantipora), in which 129 cases of different nature were considered and after due consideration a total of 113 cases were disposed off and fine of Rs 8,000/- was realised from the violators under various sections of laws, besides civil matters were also adjudicated upon and resolved through the intervention of the bench.
Pertinent to mention that in the Lok Adalat the parties to the dispute can directly interact with the judge through their counsel which is not possible in regular court of law. Moreover the basic feature of Lok Adalt is informal and speedy justice.
