GDC Tral organises workshop, training on Disaster Preparedness

Tral: April 18: NSS Units and Sports Department of GDC Tral in collaboration with Fire and Emergency Department Pulwama organised awareness cum Demonstration program in its campus titled Learn Fire Safety, Increase Productivity.

The main purpose of the program was to aware students about the various reasons which lead to fire hazards and what one can do to curb the hazard at the very onset.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Farooq Mir welcomed the dignitaries from Fire and Emergency Department. With his unparalleled wit, Principal GDC Tral made the audience realise how our negligent attitude towards small things leads to fire hazards.

He shared some thought provoking designing ideas which one must follow while constructing new structures.

He assured his full cooperation to the Fire and Emergency Department for organising such programs in near future.

Dignitaries from Fire and Emergency Department shared their learnt experiences which lead to such hazards.

They also enlightened the audience about the various steps which one must take at the individual/collective level if such a mishap takes place in their respective localities.

They also shared the ordeals which the firemen face while dealing with fire extinguishing activities and how general public instead of helping them impede their work.

The awareness session was followed by demonstration wherein the expert firemen practically showed various methods to curb the fire incidents.

The programme concluded with an oath session wherein the faculty members and students vowed to share the fire extinguishing techniques with their respective families and local population of their respective areas.
