GDC Bijbehara organises event titled event “My Story-Motivational Session by Successful Innovators”

Anantnag, 22 Nov: In connection with Activity proposed by Institution’s Innovation Council for 1st Quarter of IIC Activity Calendar, Govt. Degree College Bijbehara organised an event “My Story-Motivational Session by Successful Innovators” on 21st November 2023 aimed at providing a roadmap to to young students in becoming budding entrepreneurs, looking to establish and elevate themselves as future entrepreneurs.

The guest speaker was Mr. Zahoor Ahmad Ahanger (M.D & Owner of Global Metal Industries Siligam Anantnag & Global Enterprises Vessu Anantnag). Around 100 students from the college participated in the event.

The programme began with the Welcome address by Prof. Yasmin Bashir, (Principal GDC Bijbehara), who welcomed all the participants and expressed his gratitude to the guest speaker for gracing the occasion and encouraging the students about various avenues for starting their own ventures and various available government schemes.

Zahoor Ahmad Ahanger (Guest Speaker) talked about various aspects of Entrepreneurship and Government initiatives. He made the students aware about the financial support available to the new Start-ups through Banks and Financial Institutions, and also explained about initiatives and schemes by the Ministry of Women and Child Development specifically for the Women Entrepreneurs.

The students got motivated when he gave the examples of some of the entrepreneurs who achieved success at a very young age or in a very challenging circumstance. Moreover, the speaker shared his story of success, the failures he faced at different phases and the way he overcame such obstructions during his journey which started from a scratch.

The guest speaker ended the session with a very good quote “Everyone’s name can come on Facebook but try to do something that your name appears on GOOGLE”. This session not only motivated the students but they also came to know about different ways to start their own venture.

The motivational session was followed by Valedictory in which Prof. Yasmin Bashir (Principal GDC Bijbehara) honoured the guest speaker with a memento and Dr. Farooq Ahmad Rather (Associate Professor Urdu) gave Certificate of appreciation to the guest.

The Programme was organized by by Dr. Shaheen khurshid (Assistant Professor Zoology) and Dr. Salfie Muzaffar Parray (Sr. Assistant Professor Political Science). The session was moderated by Dr. Shaheen Khurshid and Vote of Thanks was Proposed by Dr. Salfie Muzaffar Parray.
